Previously located in the idyllic Suffolk countryside village of Stutton, near Ipswich, Voice and Data solutions provider QDOS Networks were bursting at the seams of their converted barn which had been their headquarters for the past 10 years. They needed more space for a growing number of staff and needed a prestigious office to reflect their status as an increasingly successful high tech business.
Established by Matthew Lidbetter in 1995 the company has progressed from a one man operation to a leading player in the telecommunications market of East Anglia, the South East and London. Through organic growth and the acquisition of IP DataPhone in 2005 the company now employs over 25 staff and has plans to establish offices in each of the six counties of the eastern region together with a sales and service centre in London
The new premises in Great Blakenham, Ipswich, Suffolk, are in a well-designed modern purpose built building. QDOS Networks got involved with the internal layout design to include dedicated meeting rooms, demonstration facilities, enhanced engineering facilities and enough space for expansion for the next 5 years.
The new location gives the company improved transport links, being only minutes from the A14 and A12 corridors, with fast access throughout the region, and to the Midlands, the South East and London; a matter Sales Director Simon Catterick values greatly, as he said:
“As our customer base grows, our Sales, Project Management and Engineering teams are spending more and more time on the road. We’re a Voice and Data provider but that doesn’t mean we don’t take time to talk to our customers face-to-face.If anything, we are placing a greater emphasis on meeting with customers as often as we can in order to provide them with the correct solution for their needs, and to develop an ongoing business relationship with them.”
Good transport links will also provide mutual benefits for future staff, allowing the company to recruit the right calibre of staff for newly created positions, including a new telemarketing team to expand the company’s customer base even further.
QDOS Networks have agreed a 5 year term on the property, after which Simon Catterick expects the company will again move on to larger premises. He said:
“QDOS Networks are not a company to sit back and enjoy success. We’re always looking to the next challenge, the next goal that will allow us to grow and improve further. This is certainly an exciting time for us but really it is only the starting point.”
