QDOS - High Speed Internet Access
The modern business traveller is increasingly demanding the provision of High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) from his choice of hotel accommodation, meeting or seminar.
The QDOS GuestNet Internet Access Controller (IAC) allows a hotel property owner to provide Guest Internet Access Services with a fast return on investment. This is done with a very low burden to daily operations and manpower requirements.
A single QDOS GuestNet IAC can provide a service covering the whole property, allowing Internet Access to be sold to hotel guests, casual visitors, meeting rooms and conference facilities. By acting as both a gateway and billing system interface, QDOS GuestNet provides seamless and secure Internet access regardless of the setup of the guest’s computer. The QDOS GuestNet solution also gives the opportunity to advertise property events, on the branded hotel welcome page e.g. restaurant or bar facilities and even local town or city web sites.
Here’s how it works:
The guest connects their laptop or PDA to the system either using a standard network cable or, by wireless connectivity. When the guest opens their internet browser, the hotel welcome page will appear offering the guest the internet service, at a fee determined by the hotelier. If the guest chooses to accept the charges, billing will be made to the room through the property management system. The guest will then be able to access the Internet. For hotels without a property management system, QDOS GuestNet can issue PIN numbers, which can be sold at the reception.
QDOS GuestNet automatically sets up the session without requiring any reconfiguration of the guests’ equipment and allows access to the Internet via the Hotel’s existing or new Internet connection.
